Ferrari is planning to launch a raft of new models and it will begin from the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show next month. The automaker is planning to launch a convertible version of the 458 Italia: the 458 Spider. This model is rumored to sport a new automated folding hardtop, instead of a canvas soft top, as in the previous convertible model.

This model will be powered by the same 4.5 liter V8 engine found in the 458 Italia. The engine is capable of producing 570 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. Although being powered by the same engine, the convertible is expected to be a bit slower than the hardtop model as the convertible will feature some extra weight, due to the automatic folding roof mechanism and chassis strengthening. After the Frankfurt debut in September, this car is expected to go on sale in the European market in the same month. The car will hit the US market in early 2012.

Ferrari also plans to launch the replacements for 599 GTB Fiorano and the Enzo next year. The successor to the Enzo supercar is being codenamed as the F70 and is currently undergoing tests on two different platforms. One option is a twin turbo V8 engine producing around 700 hp and other is a naturally aspirated V12 unit producing 750 to 800 hp.

The automaker also plans to launch the facelift version of the California and the 458 Scuderia in 2013. The Scuderia will be faster than the 458 Italia and will incorporate elements from the 458 Challenge race car.
